Contest Rules:

1. Submit up to THREE poems totaling no more than 150 lines.

2. Include your actual name – NO pseudonyms, please.

3. Email poems in a single attachment (PDF or Word .docx file) to the English Department at English@calpoly.edu, and write “Academy of American Poets contest” on the subject line.

4. Students must be enrolled at Cal Poly during Spring quarter to be eligible.

5. Students may not submit poems that have been selected for any previous Al Landwehr creative writing contest or any previous Cal Poly Academy of American Poets contest.

The winning poem (and honorable mention, should a judge choose one) will be published on the English Department web site – and possibly in another Cal Poly venue. Winning poems will also be submitted to the Academy of American Poets and may appear in one of their publications as well. Submission of poems constitutes agreement to publish.
