Why I Give: Sarah Storelli

Sarah Storelli, Cal Poly English Alumna

By majoring in English at Cal Poly, I acquired deeper empathy for humanity and a passion for making the world a better place.

Whether it was novel selections or thought-provoking classroom discussions, the English Department professors showed me how to understand the world from various vantage points. I was student body president in 2010, and held a number of leadership positions on campus throughout college, and through it all, my professors were a sanctuary for me. Whether they offered a listening ear during office hours or opened up their homes for end-of-quarter paper presentations, I have never experienced such genuine people who cared about my well-being.

To express my gratitude for the English Department professors who made me a better person, I gave to the 200 for 200 campaign. This campaign is a tangible way I can show my appreciation and help give them the resources they need to effectively mentor and teach the next generation of humanitarians and leaders. Please join me in giving back. Together, we can ensure that Cal Poly English students receive the same high-quality education and mentors for years to come.
