SUNY English Professor to Talk on Biopolitics of Immortality May 7 at Cal Poly

Tim Dean, English and comparative literature professor at State University of New York, Buffalo, will present “Who Wants to Live Forever? Henrietta Lacks and the Biopolitics of Immortality,” from 2:10 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in the Science North Building (No. 53), Room 215, at Cal Poly.

2015 Landwehr Creative Writing Contest Winners Announced

Cal Poly English major Rhiannon Kelly and manufacturing engineering major Kory Barri won the university’s 2015 Al Landwehr Creative Writing Contest.

Kelly’s story “Richard” and Barri’s poem “Sand Castles” each won $100 first-place prizes and will appear in the Cal Poly literary magazine Byzantium, co-edited in 2015 by English students Monique Nicholas and Adrienne King.

This year's Speed Networking event was fantastic! We had 13 alumni stations and over 40 students participated, ranging from first years to graduate students. Alumni love connecting with current students and re-connecting with former professors.
