entered graduate program: fall '12

degree(s) & major: B.A. in English literature and Economics from Chapman University

areas of interest: I’m drawn to Modern and Contemporary novels and (post) post-colonial literature, but if it’s written, I’m probably interested. And if it happens to deal with the negotiation of power in love and romance, I'm doubly interested.

favorite authors:Some of my favorite authors are Charlotte Brontë, Percival Everett, Herman Melville, James Baldwin, and Virginia Woolf. I also have a love/hate relationship with Leo Tolstoy and an "it's complicated" with Walt Whitman.

favorite reads: Huckleberry Finn, Baldwin’s Another Country, Jane Eyre, A Tale of Two Cities, The Harry Potter series (of course), Octavia Butler’s Kindred, Elizabeth Peter’s Amelia Peabody series, and the occasional Nora Roberts (don’t judge me).
