Be Part of English's 200 for 200!

As this academic year comes to an end, we are looking to the future of the English Department. And you can help ensure that students get the same first-rate, hands-on education you received.

Elizabeth Meissner (English, '04) gives to
Cal Poly English because she wants future
students to have the same transformative
education that she had.

So far, nearly 50 people have committed to the department’s 200 for 200 initiative which aims to have 200 alumni commit to a gift or pledge of $200 within the next year.

“I give back to the Cal Poly English Department because of all the department has given me. I gained not only a foundation in – and a strengthened appreciation for – the great literature of the Western world, but also the critical thinking, writing and editing skills I use every day in my work,” said Elizabeth Meissner (English, ’04).

“My education has been invaluable to me, and my experience obtaining it was as positive as its effects have been on my life. I listened to lectures that opened my mind to new ideas, participated in class discussions that taught me more about myself and others, and benefited from professors whose help and interest spurred me to do my best. If giving back a little of what I’ve gained helps the English Department faculty serve their current students as well as they served me, I’m happy to contribute.”

I hope you'll join Elizabeth by giving online today

Thank you for supporting Cal Poly English students and faculty.
